Threading Change is hosting a Sustainable Fashion Career, Knowledge, and Networking Fair in honour of Secondhand September at BCIT’s downtown campus from 6 pm to 8:30 pm. It will showcase the work of leaders in the sustainable fashion industry including brands, fashion and design schools, not-for-profit organizations, advocacy groups, and small fashion start-ups.

There will be opportunities to engage and talk to brand partners directly and to fashion schools, sustainable fashion startups, non-profit organizations, and small businesses. Join us for a chance to mingle and network with leading sustainable fashion brands and innovators and meet like-minded sustainability and impact professionals in Vancouver.
What to expect:
The event will kick off at 6pm with all organization introductions and check-in. Attendees will then have the opportunity to interact with representatives from the organizations and receive job application tips from experts in a special resume/cover letter workshop. The format is a free open networking session, with light refreshments and snacks provided. There will also be a silent auction from fashion brands including LUSH, Patagonia, Shortlisted, Cheekbone beauty, and Voes & Co.
Who is Threading Change?
Threading Change is a youth-led ethical fashion organization focused on addressing the systemic injustices and inequalities that persist in the global fashion industry. We work at the interface of youth engagement and industry innovation to reduce industry emissions, support sustainable businesses, and grow a climate-resilient textile economy rooted in anti-racism, reconciliation, and justice.
Venue accessibility:
The BCIT Downtown Campus is in the heart of Vancouver, near the Granville Skytrain Station at 555 Seymour Street Vancouver. If coming from Skytrain, exit Granville station using the Seymour Street exit. Then head northeast on Seymour St toward Dunsmuir. BCIT’s main entrance will be on your left after
Parking:
If driving, please enter the parkade entrance off of 555 Seymour. One parked, proceed to the elevators to level 1 (ground level). Exit the door and turn left into BCIT's main entrance.
Parking is $15 for the day or $5 hourly
Atrium:
Once in the main lobby take the elevators to the 8th floor. There are 2 entrances to the Atrium, take either the right or left corner and you will see a door sign for your event leading into the Atrium, room 825.
